چکیده

Considerations of the order of magnitude and the symmetry of various intramolecular interactions formthe foundation of molecular spectroscopy. They are related and they together make molecular spectroscopy transparentand tidy. In this chapter, they are discussed starting from the very fundamental. The order of magnitude has not beendiscussed in any previous textbooks of molecular spectroscopy. The symmetry has been discussed in many textbooks anddiscussions here are limited to the rotational and nuclear spin states and its application to forbidden rotational transitionsand the stability of nuclear spin modifications (ortho-, paraetc.).

Biosensing Based on Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy by Using Metal Nanoparticles

Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is a promising tool in the analytical science because it provides good selectivity and sensitivity without the labeling process required by fluorescence detection. This technique consists of locating the target analyte on nanometer range of roughed Au-nanoparticles. The presence of the metal nanoparticles provides a tremendous enhancement to the result...

Single Molecule Raman Spectroscopy at the Junctions of Large Ag Nanocrystals

Molecular surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) in compact clusters of 30-70 nm Ag nanocrystals has shown single molecule Raman scattering cross sections that are orders of magnitude larger than free space single molecule luminescence cross sections. We analyze certain aspects of this phenomenon with new numerical electromagnetic calculations, and we also present new spectral depolarization ...

A Computational Study to Find the Vibrational Modes Connected with Specific Molecular Structures of Calculated Compound

The purpose of this research is to provide a deeper understanding of the planar high- symmetry configuration instability. In the ideal case, the distortion corresponds to the movements of nuclei along normal modes that belong to non-totally symmetric irreps of the high symmertry (HS) point group of molecule. The analysis of the structural distortion from the HS nuclear arrangements of the JT ac...

Calculation of the Lifetimes of Localized Electronic Vacancies in Cyclic Molecules

For a benzenelike ring of six carbon atoms the dissipation of localized electron vacancies of TI and of a symmetry is calculated. The vacancies are described by Wannier sums. The calculation yields lifetimes of localization of about 10~16 s in both cases. These values are shorter by two orders of magnitude than any period of molecular vibrations. Therefore such transiently localized vacancies, ...
